The SWOP program prides itself in inclusive community engagement. One way that has been employed to incorporate community members as stakeholders in the program is through an annual engagement forum that occurs between the program’s peer educators and the management of the program.
Following the transition of the program from one funding period to the next, this year’s annual engagement forum was more so vital.
- To ascertain program continuity to community members and address concerns
- To get community feedback regarding the current state of service delivery at the clinic and outreach
- To enhance unity among the peer educators and the program staff
It was an interactive forum where a panel of 4 program senior staff responded to the questions and concerns of the peer educators.
